Hatha Yoga is a system of yoga that relies on slow-stretches and breathing exercises to help individuals develop balance, coordination, and harmonization through the act of meditation. It’s a great way to stay in shape for any age group, and since it uses low-impact modes of stretching, it’s ideal for those who are seeking a way to exercise without the additional stress on joints, back and knees.
Through a series of exercises that focus on the quality of the movement, as opposed to quantity like traditional exercises, yoga can help counteract many of the problems suffered during life; such as backache, arthritis, and poor circulation. Not only does yoga help strengthen your body, but also improves the flexibility of the mind, which helps to harmonize your being to lead you to a level of greater peace and health, and decreased stress and anxiety.

What is Flow-Based Hatha (Hatha Flow) Yoga?
Flow-Based Hatha Yoga combines classical Hatha Yoga postures with a sequence of movements that “flow” with each breath. Hatha Flow involves moving from one posture to another with very little rest in between, thus creating a strong cardiovascular workout. Variations in Sun Salutation are used as a warm-up, followed by standing sequence, balancing poses, seated poses and finally, relaxation (savasana). The physical practice of Hatha Flow will naturally build heat in the body.
This type of Yoga is recommended for students who have practiced Hatha Yoga and are interested in exploring a more movement-oriented class.
